Community Renewal and Ecological Health Campaign

Join us as we raise $100,000 within the next 30 days and $1 million in the next 6 months.

So far we have allocated $21,000 in initial emergency grants to 3 grassroots/community led environmental networks in the gulf coast region.  We plan to give another round of grants sometime in the near future to a larger pool of organizations, as more funds come available.

The initial grants given are mainly catalytic and will help off-set some of the costs for assessments and data gathering that are being conducted by these environmental networks around the social and environmental impact of the oil disaster.  We have been working diligently to raise additional resources to support that work and we have also be reaching out to some of our colleagues to encourage them to allocate emergency dollars for community directed efforts as well.

Support the Gulf Coast Fund with your donation to Earthjustice

earthjustice

Earthjustice is working with the Gulf Coast Fund to provide direct assistance for community-led first response initiatives. Twenty-five percent of your contribution to Earthjustice's emergency fund will be sent to the Gulf Coast Fund to aid in the response to this tragedy. Earthjustice's most senior attorney in the region filed suit last week to kill the exemptions and force a review of all offshore drilling plans that don't comply with the law. Support Earthjustice during their legal battle, and support the Gulf Coast Fund at the same time.
